Believing that capturing Nigeria means capturing Africa, the
CEO of MMDI[Miss & Mr Deaf International] contacted Mrs. Tolulope Oko-Igaire
if she will be willing to host the reigning queen Ms Cassandra whyte in Nigeria
to spread the awareness that a deaf person can do all things, except hear, and
encourage people living with disability.
Not sure of where the finances will come, Mrs Oko-Igaire
accepted the offer and on the 21st of May 2012. Miss Cassandra Whyte,
a Jamaican and the then reigning queen who won Miss Deaf International in
Florida America among deaf girls from about 38 other countries around the world
came into Nigeria.
The expectation of the management of MmMDI was that the
government will host Miss Whyte and so Mrs. Oko-Igaire wrote to all the concerned
bodies, corporate and individuals hoping to get a full support.
